This page is written by the DreamCore team. DreamCore is not Roblox and isn't connected to it. The short answer: Roblox Studio itself runs on Windows and Mac, not on phones. Roblox has announced a separate mobile creation tool called Build, which Roblox announced in July 2026 as a staged rollout starting in New Zealand. Roblox facts below come from its official pages checked on October 29, 2026. We have not run the same project in both tools, so this is not a quality ranking.
What Roblox says about Studio and phones
- Studio is a computer app. Roblox's setup guide calls Studio "a free application" available on Windows and Mac. The minimum it lists is Windows 10 or macOS 10.14 with 3 GB of RAM and a screen of 1600×900 or more. You sign in with a Roblox account.
- Not on phones or Chromebooks. Roblox's education FAQ says Studio "cannot run on Chromebooks or mobile devices such as smartphones". Playing Roblox games on a phone is a different thing and is supported.
- Build is the mobile option Roblox announced. On July 16, 2026, Roblox announced Build, a "mobile-first creation tab" inside the Roblox app that turns a text prompt into a basic game you can keep improving, playtest and share. Roblox said the public alpha would start in New Zealand on July 28, with more regions over the following months, for age-checked users 9 and older. Published games that pass safety checks are available to age-checked users 16 and older. Roblox says a base version is free, with paid options. We have not checked whether Build is open in your country today, so look in your Roblox app.

Which one fits what you want?
- You want your game on Roblox, played by Roblox players: Roblox Studio on a Windows or Mac computer, or Build in the Roblox app if it has reached you.
- You only have a phone and want a game your friends can play from a link tonight: DreamCore. You describe the game in chat in your phone's browser, play it, fix it by chatting, and send the link.

Make a Roblox-style game on your phone
An obby is a good first project: jump from platform to platform, don't touch the lava, reach the end. Try something small first:
- Write one line, like "a 3D obby with 10 floating platforms, lava below and a checkpoint halfway".
- Play it on your phone. Check the joystick, the jump and the checkpoint.
- Fix one thing at a time in chat, for example "the third jump is too far, move that platform closer".
- Publish it, then open the link on a friend's phone to check it works.
